Fiona Maloney-McCrystle

Program Associate

Fiona joined the Scott Center team as a fellow in May 2019 after a couple of years of post-grad work that included teaching English in Spain and learning the ropes as a legal assistant. Born and raised in the Bay Area, she attended Castilleja School in Palo Alto before getting her B.A. in History from Middlebury College in Vermont. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Translation and Interpretation at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Although she is fond of all of the Six Pillars of Social Entrepreneurship, her favorite might be Systems, because of the way it motivates her to scale analysis and creativity across space, time, identities, and communities. Some of the things that matter most to Fiona are: facilitating cross-cultural communication, making sure people feel safe to be as enthusiastic as they want to be about their passions, and using historical analysis to uncover untold and undervalued narratives.
